CRF Top 10 Clinical Research Achievement Awards
Awarded to someone who with a degree of innovation and creativity involved and its advancement of the science in a specific area; contribution to the understanding of human disease and/or human physiology; and potential impact upon the diagnosis, prevention and/or treatment or increased understanding of the disease state.

John Phillips Memorial Award
For outstanding, lifetime work in clinical medicine which has been innovative and/or had a regional or national impact. Clinical medicine shall be interpreted to include all aspects of clinical research or practice of medicine.

Education and Mentorship

Abraham Flexner Award for Distinguished Service to Medical Education
To recognize someone who has made a national impact on undergraduate and graduate medical education, research education, inter-professional health education, advancing the science of health professions education, or personal expertise as a teacher or mentor.

ACTS Distinguished Educator Award
To a clinical investigator who has distinguished him or herself as a mentor and leader.

AOA/Robert J. Glaser Distinguished Teacher Award
Provides national recognition to faculty members who have distinguished themselves in medical student education.

Frontiers of Knowledge Award
Promotes scientific research of excellence through grants for team research projects, the dissemination of outcomes to society through channels including workshops, lectures, publications and exhibitions, advanced training initiatives, research awards in partnership with scientific societies, and the annual grant schemes Leonardo and Multiverse, funding the personal projects of researchers and cultural creators.

To honor outstanding medical research related to health and disease. The research recognized may be in the fields of basic discovery, clinical research, health outcomes research, and patient- and population-based outcomes research.

For outstanding achievements in biomedical research for the benefit of human health.

Gagna A. & Ch. Van Heck Prize
To a scientist or medical doctor in recognition of research work which has contributed to the treatment of a disease currently incurable, or which has raised hopes for curing a disease.

Grand Hamdan International Award
Awarded to someone with a research breakthrough in the subject selected for the award, having the potential to have a major impact on healthcare delivery.

Innovators in Science Award
For scientists who have distinguished themselves for the creativity and impact of their research in the areas of Neuroscience, Gastroenterology, Regenerative Medicine, and Oncology.

J. Allyn Taylor International Prize in Medicine
Awarded to an individual or individuals who have made significant contributions to a field of basic or clinical research in one of the Institute’s principal areas of research.

Keio Medical Science Prize
Gives recognition to the outstanding and creative achievements of researchers in the fields of medicine and life sciences, in particular those contributing to scientific developments in medicine.

Lewis S. Rosenstiel Award for Distinguished Work in Basic Medical Research
Awarded to scientists for recent discoveries of particular originality and importance to basic medical research.

Louis Gross Horwitz Prize for Biology or Biochemistry
To honor a scientific investigator, or group of investigators, whose contributions to knowledge in either biology or biochemistry are deemed worthy of special recognition.

Mechthild Esser Nemmers Prize in Medical Science
Biennially awarded to a physician-scientist whose body of research exhibits outstanding achievement in medical science as demonstrated by works of lasting significance.

NAS Award in Molecular Biology
To recognize a recent notable discovery by a young scientist (defined as no older than 45) who is a citizen of the United States.

National Medal of Science
To be given to individuals deserving of special recognition by reason of their outstanding contributions to knowledge in the physical, biological, mathematical, engineering sciences, or social and behavioral sciences.

Prince Mahidol Award in Medicine/Public Health
Awarded to two categories to recognize for outstanding performance and/or research in the field of medicine for the benefit of mankind or for outstanding contribution in the field of public health for the sake of the well-being of the peoples.

Princess of Asturias Award in Technical and Scientific Research
Awarded to those who to contribute to extolling and promoting those scientific, cultural and humanistic values that form part of the universal heritage of humanity and to consolidate the existing links between the Principality of Asturias and the title traditionally held by the heirs to the Crown of Spain.

Distinguished Service Award (Society of Gynecologic Oncology)
Recognizes individuals who, over an extended period of time, display a continuous outstanding meritorious service in the field on gynecologic oncology.

Awarded annually by the McGovern Institute to recognize outstanding advances in the field of neuroscience.

NAS Award in the Neurosciences
Awarded every three years to recognize extraordinary contributions to the progress of the neuroscience fields, including neurochemistry, neurophysiology, neuropharmacology, developmental neuroscience, neuroanatomy, and behavioral and clinical neuroscience.

Public Health and Patient Care

American College of Physicians Award for Distinguished Contributions to Behavioral Medicine
To recognize an individual who has furthered the care of patients by recognizing the importance of caring for the whole patient, both mind and body. This can be through research or clinical innovations.

David E. Rogers Award
The award is presented annually to a medical school faculty member who has made major contributions to improving the health and health care of the American people.

Foster G. McGaw Prize
Honors health delivery organizations (hospitals, health systems, integrated networks, or self-defined community partnerships) that have demonstrated exceptional commitment to community service.

Gustav O. Lienhard Award
To recognize individuals for outstanding achievement in improving health care services in the United States.

Beckman-Argyros Award in Vision Research
To reward an individual who has made significant transformative breakthroughs in vision research; this may include those whose contributions to science in general, or through the development of an innovative technology or fundamental scientific breakthrough have been applied to, aided, and/or improved the vision sciences.

Bower Award and Prize for Achievement in Science
To individuals who have made significant contributions to green and sustainable chemistry—chemistry focused on the technological design of chemical products and processes that reduce or eliminate the use or generation of hazardous substances.

For original and excellent achievements in diabetes research.

NAS Raymond and Beverly Sackler Prize in Convergence Research
To recognize significant advances in convergence research—the integration of two or more of the following disciplines: mathematics, physics, chemistry, biomedicine, biology, astronomy, earth sciences, engineering, and computational science — for achievements possible only through such integration.

Schottenstein Prize in Cardiovascular Science

Wolf Prize in Medicine
